Four posts of two Deputy Education Officers each for secondary and primary are sanctioned in the district. But among these, only one regular Deputy Education Officer is working in primary, the remaining three posts are vacant.
• 13 posts of Group Education Officers are sanctioned and only one is working. About 36 out of 54 posts of Education Extension Officers are vacant.
• 25 out of 136 posts of Kendrapradhyaksh are vacant. Due to the vacancies of important posts in the education department, the work has been disrupted.

• Education department plays vital role in providing physical facilities to the children including regular inspection of schools, construction of new school rooms, repair of school, construction of toilets, repairs, construction of security wall.
For this, implementation is done through the education officer at the district level and the group education officer at the taluka level. But physical facilities have been affected due to the vacancies of the group education officers.

An incident happened in Nagpur last week when students had to travel a hundred kilometers to reach the Zilla Parishad directly due to the school being closed due to lack of teachers. Malkapur is a village in Katol taluka of Nagpur district. The number of students studying in the village primary school is 15 and classes are held from class 1 to class 5. But, after the new academic session started, the students were deprived of education due to the absence of teachers in the school.

There are 103 schools in Bhiwapur taluka of Nagpur district and 28 posts are vacant. There are 83 teachers in 123 schools in Hingana taluka, 39 posts in 86 schools in Kalmeshwar taluka, 61 teachers in 77 schools in Kamathi taluka, 61 in Katol, 65 in Kuhi taluka, 72 in Mauda taluka, 61 in Nagpur Rural, 63 in Narkhed taluka. There are 77 vacancies in Parshivni taluka, 36 in Ramtek taluka, 38 in Saoner taluka and 45 in Umred. 1)) Annual number of retired teachers No new teacher has been recruited for the last few years.
