The State Common Entrance Test Chamber (CET Chamber) has informed that the first list of admission process for 17 thousand 926 seats will be released on July 27. In this agriculture course, B. Sc Agriculture, B. Sc Horticulture, B. Sc Forestry, B. Sc. FSc Fisheries, B. Tech Food Technology, B. Tech Biotechnology, B. Tech Agricultural Engineering, B. Sc Community Science courses are offered through MHT CET. There are 17 thousand 926 seats in 203 colleges of the state for these courses in the academic year 2024-25. Agricultural education includes BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, BSc Forestry, BSc Fisheries, B.Tech Food Technology, B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, BSc Community Science, BSc Agri Business Management. Admission is given in nine courses through CET examination. For the last few years, the attraction of students is increasing rapidly towards BSc Agriculture course. Keeping in view the inclination of students, four new colleges have been started this year to teach agricultural courses in the state. Seats have been increased by opening four colleges, three aided and one unaided, for agricultural courses.


 

Maha Krishi Admission 2023-2024: In a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today, it was decided to change the rules of the centralized admission process of agriculture and agriculture-related colleges in the state and implement this process like professional courses like engineering. With this decision, students taking admission in agriculture courses will get information about the vacant seats in the college after each stage and they will be able to choose options accordingly. This decision will remove the major inconvenience of students taking admission in agriculture courses and colleges will also be able to give admission till the last date.

A meeting was held today in the ministry under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to resolve problems related to admission in agricultural colleges and agricultural courses in the state. Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde, MLA Shekhar Nikam, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Dr. Nitin Kareer, Additional Chief Secretary of General Administration Department Nitin Gadre, Principal Secretary of Planning Department Saurabh Vijay, Principal Secretary of Higher and Technical Education Department Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Director General of Information and Public Relations Jayshree Bhoj etc. were present.

By changing the rules of the admission process of agricultural colleges, it will be more convenient for the students and it will also be ensured that the students get the benefit of reserved seats. A positive decision was also taken in the meeting to implement the agricultural admission process in a centralized manner through the Maharashtra State Agricultural Education and Research Council. The meeting also discussed allowing colleges or institutions that excel in the field of agricultural education to establish private agricultural universities. Issues related to various agricultural universities, agricultural colleges, nurseries etc. in the state were also discussed in the meeting.

Maha Krishi Admission 2023-2024: Under all the four agricultural universities of Maharashtra, namely Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada University, Parbhani and Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Agricultural University, Dapoli, the direct admission process for agriculture degree courses in the academic year 2023-2024 is being implemented centrally through Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research.

MMaharashtra Agriculture Education: Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER) conducts the common entrance exam every year for admission to BSc Agriculture, MSc Agriculture in various fields including Doctorate/PhD Agriculture. Candidates who qualify this qualifying exam get admission in government, government aided and self-financed private professional educational colleges in the state of Maharashtra. For Mahakrishi UG Admission 2023, the exam was conducted from August 5 to 11, 2023 for PCM group and from August 12 to 20, 2023 for PCB group. BSc Agriculture is a 4-year course open to candidates with 12th science background.
